When I made a purchased some coins, I gave the dealer $3 and he had to give $2 in change back so he gave me large dollars from 1968 and 1969 in sealed plastic holders, he had bought the dollars from the bank himself in 1968 and 1969 so it's quite a gift to me. They're like MS64-65 since there's no wear, scratches, dings, etc.

Anyway, I'm looking to value them, but I have difficulty with the variations of '68. Do any of you have comparative images. I look where the island is but I don't see it. I see like a really small end of the island (so small I even have difficulty with my 30x loupe) so I don't know if it's island, small island, no island.

I will do my best to try and get a good pic, thanks in advance.

10Xloupe. if you have the 2012 charlton coin guide. on page 206 they show great pictures of the different variations. One that you could probably find on the 1968 is the doubled "68"

If you look closely at the close-up of the second photo you will see a dot on the second wave.

Is it just the lighting, or is the AR of DOLLAR doubled?

No, just the lighting. Would be cool if it was doubling though. So, do we all agree with small island.

Well, I believe its small island and book value is around $34 for MS-64 and $150 for MS-65 did you check for doubling on the "68" ?

Well, I had to open it to check the details. No doubling. But there's a large scratch on it that probably lowers it MS60. ):

I'll put them with my dollar collection just for the sake of my generous dealer.
