What fanam is this? Is it even 1 fanam?
I've been researching for days, but I can't find anything.

I have a couple of gold fanams; they both need attribution as well.

Having spent some months in India, a thought has crossed my mind:
'Do gold plated fakes exist in this series?'

Therefore; How much does it weigh?
Look for any tiny spots near the edges where the coin may have been supported for plating. 10x minimum loupe may be needed for this.

I am not saying that I suspect that this is a fake, rather my feeling is that it is genuine. It is just that I have never addressed myself to the task of identification of fakes in this series.

I remember reading about how these coins were sometimes re struck as opposed to being counterfeited. I would be happy just figuring out where my coins from at this point.
