Was wondering what is your opinion about mid/long-term coin storage in Lindner Coin Sheets.
In their catalog it says: "made of acid-free and softener-free transparent hardPVC foil." But it is unclear to me what does it mean in terms of coin safety.
Basically PVC is not harmful to anything. It is sort of a stable substance. It is the softeners that are added to make the substance more pliable. However, thoes tend to leak out until it is all gone. In many places PVC piping is used for all household piping including drinking water. IF their addvertisement is correct, should be safe. A test to make sure would be to place a variety of cheap coins in them and just wait to see the results. Not everything a manufacturer advertises is true.
