I just picked up $200 worth of Uncirculated rolls of the 2007 Washington $1 Coin from my local bank (Florida), looking for error coins. No luck.
My question: Should I just return them & get my money back? Or are they worth holding on to? If everyone has the same idea, they won't be worth anything above a dollar. I don't really want to tie up my money on something with minimal possibilities of profit. Advice?

I think you should just spend them here and there and get these things out into circulation. Please don't return these back to the bank where they will sit in their vault. Since stopping production of the dollar paper note won't happen, we need to circulate these coins and make the public aware of them.

Why bother to return them to the bank? Why not just spend them as you would amy other money you may have in your pocket.

I agree with OldDan, spend them. It's kind of fun to see the look on peoples faces that have never seen one.

I search them and then spend them just as I do currency the more of these things we get out into circulation the better it is at least that's the way it seem to me.

What I did is threw a couple of the nicer one's in some 2x2's, kept some to spend(I kept about $100) and turned the rest in to the bank...

Or, you could take a die grinder to the edge, remove the lettering and about an 1/8th of an inch of material as well, post them on ebay as DRASTIC ERROR COINS, and make a fortune. The devil made me do it. Jim

Get your money back?
They are money. Spend them.
I go thru about a roll a week.

You're right...they will likely never (in our lifetimes) achieve any collector's value. Just like the State Quarters, everyone and their brother or sister saves 'em, so MS coins will be plentiful for decades to come. Better to pass them on into circulation. good luck!

i have about 30 rolls I'm going to keep and the rest I look over and put them into circulation--the more we put into circulation the less uncirculated coins will remain

Spend them, you'd be surprised to find that many people have never seen one before.

Yep...gave one to a coworker yesterday, she'd never seen one, had no idea they were being minted and put into circulation.

Same thought here. Spend 'em.
I pick up a few rolls every time I go to the bank, check them, then put them in my pocket a few at a time and spend them like any other currency.

I would also spend the ones you don't want to keep. Since their issue, I have found myself using them more and more and I kinda like it. They are a little more bulky then a bill but somehow more fun to spend. I'm sure the gov't is happy with me! Just doing my part. Margaret

I use them for tolls mostly, it's nice having them in the car.
