HoosierDaddy Pillar of the Community United States 1164 Posts	Posted 01/03/2013 06:45 am After a little research with my friend, these should be billon coins. Since coins they were local provincial coins does this make them on the rare side or the opposite? I have some regular silver examples, too. The dark patina, since it's so even, had me puzzled. I have a couple of 1700's billon coins from France(colonials) and they are more on the lighter copperish color. Thanks guys for the info. I learn new stuff here everyday.
