Still trying to hone my doubled die spotting skills. Is this machined? I can post better pics later of other areas of the coin. Thanks as always!

Hi

It is neither type of doubling. Die/hub or Machine.
I've seen this many times before and not just on quarters.
Maybe just a slight die wobble or unequal strike pressure etc.
Best bet is to first research and find out what DDO's/DDR's
are already on the books for whatever coin/yr. etc. that you have. These should show some pics. of the doubling and other
markers/attributes for each particular variety. Easier to rule
them out that way if you are not sure about the differences.
