Yes, I got one! I didnt had the intention to buy this coin but I could resist both the price as the looks. A great griffin from Abdera! 2.41g. 16mm  Abdera, Thrace, AR drachm of international tetrobol standard, 365-350 BC. Magistrate Pythokleos. ABDH-RITEWN above and beneath griffin recumbent left / EPI P-UQO-KL-EOS clockwise within linear border around head of Apollo right. May 550: AMNG Thrace 169; Wiczay 2250. Edited by Dutchgulden

The man is insatiable .........
Very bad case of "numismatidis". May require hospitalization to stabilize the fever. Long term prognosis is probable 'institutionalization' and psychiatric medication (Thorazine !)

Very nice. I have a big soft spot for griffins. On my drachm, Apollo is facing the other way. Abdera, Silver Drachm Obv:â€" Griffin springing left. Rev:â€" GR-W-TH-S, laureate head of Apollo left in linear square, within incuse square Minted in Abdera, 365 - 345 B.C. Reference:â€" May 324  Martin |
