Here's one I picked up to replace the fake I recently
purchased for my Flavian Dynasty collection in progress.

A little rough but I like the look of the portrait.
For now I just hope it's genuine. Looks ok..

I have this same exact type for only my Vespasian (although yours is a different RIC number from mine ? I -and wildwinds- have it as RIC 702)

"For as long as Belisarius lives, it is impossible for him to relinquish this city." - Roman general Belisarius, responding to a group of Gothic envoys, during the Gothic siege of Rome in 537 AD

Attributed coins in my collection so far - Roman: 241, Byzantine: 44, Post-Roman Germanic: 24

For some reason a bunch of Vespasian coins have two different RIC numbers. I think one was in one RIC book and then they reorganized a bunch of them in the next one? I've run into it a couple times.

Thanks all for the input..

ValiantKnight: That's a beauty..

There are subtle differences, I don't know how these were minted of if it matters..

For example the "R" in caesar on the OP coin is farther down the brow than ValiantKnight's coin..
The lettering on the rev of the OP coin seems closer to the figure than on ValiantKnight's coin.

Thx, -Ron
