1866

1868 (the legend on the reverse didn't scan well but is fully legible)

Now I have started to get some idea about grading US coins, so I really would to hear opinions for confirmation.

Also a question which I still have no answer for:
Is any holed older US coin worthless or does it still have some value?

Hi Medieval! I would grade the 1866 as G-4, and the 1868 G details, holed. The 1868 still has some value, but not much. A few bucks maybe? Less than $10.

The 66 rays could make VG8. The 68 VG details

Thanks for the further comments.
My personal assessment was ~G for the 1866 and ~VG details for the 1868, but I do have the advantage to see the coin rather than a scan - the 1868 has both a clear legend and 'lines' down the shield and across in the lower part. Main purpose of showing the 1868 was to get a comment on my added question.
