I just started reading up on what to look for, like castmarks (and it really looks like this coin has got just that) and other signs which would indicate a fake coin. To allow proper comments you will have to break the coin out of the 2x2 and provide clear pictures including from the rim. Also give weight and diameter. But wait first for some other comments. echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 01/05/2015 12:45 pm to the community First as Medieval said you need to remove the coin from the 2x2 and take better pictures. From these pictures there does seem to be a casting ling around the edge. but that could be a reflection from the plastic. Next you should weight the coin and let us know the weight. Also can you tell us where and who you got the coin from. Was it from a local dealer, ebay or other auction sale? Report this Post to the Staff

Thats why I wanted to ask you guys. Well I guess it is too hard to say without having the coin in your hand so I will let it go. A very beautiful coin though. Thanks for the input. Topcat7 Pillar of the Community 1121 Posts	Posted 01/05/2015 4:02 pm I am with Chris. Even in the 2x2 I think I can see enough of a 'casting' ring to steer me away. Does the coin have any known 'provenence'? Weight and size, (out of the 2x2), as mentioned before. If I was paying $1100 I would want a lot of hands-on time with the coin and a lot of (verified) information, simply because of what I have learnt here about unscrupulous dealers and 'fakes'.
