Here's what a type I would look like, but pretend the date is 1886:

1886-Indian-Head-Cents-Var.-I-&-Var.-II---Difference?

Here's what a Type II looks like, albeit from a different year:

1886-Indian-Head-Cents-Var.-I-&-Var.-II---Difference?

I have no idea why the change occurred.

It was just a minor design change after 25+ years. Indian cents had the feather pointing between the I and C from 1859 to mid-1886, and between the C and A from mid-1886 to 1909.
