I picked up two 1965 "large beads" 1c yesterday, which have been tentatively identified as "pointed 5" in the forum. However, I'm still skeptical because I don't have a comparison coin to study as all my '65 cents look the same (both SB and LB have that same 5)

So...do you have a good closeup of a verified LB pointed 5? That would really help shed some definitive light on this question! If this is truly a pointed 5, I'll go clean out the local dealers

For the record, here's an example of my 65 cents:

Definitely a LB:

But I (still) have my doubts about that 5:

KurtS, I don't thinkwe have the V.4. The catalogue I "Now" have shows a die chip at the very end of the hirizontal rar of the "5". This is what is "Making" the angle! change your V. #. Seems we have the V. 3. I found another, today, in the coins fron Daggit.

Dick--agreed, we have the V3. But now we know the marker to look for!
