while searching some 42 d on ebay I ran across this. now I'm sure when the $7.00 coin comes its not going to have what's in the picture. any one know how it happens I mean under magnification it looks like its there but it cant be so any thoughts. au 50 Yes

It's hard to tell without the coin in hand, but I think this could go 60. The hair looks like a weak strike instead of wear. But it is certainly not FSB.

Yeah if that's FSB then every merc I own is :)
I do agree that it's AU 55-58
If you keep a eye on the ebay auctions you can come across a slabbed MS 64 coin for just few bucks more !!

Maybe I am wrong but I think Mikey is referring to this coin as a possible 1942/1 D error.

I took a close look at the completed listing and it's a little too blurry to see the over date. Show us some good pics when you get it Mikey!

Actually see if you can see the original pictures here. I'm talking about the very distinct 42/42. I don't know if you can jump there since it's sold. I bought it 272072125562.

That's what I did Mikey, I went to the sold listings in ebay and saved the pic. Tried to enhance it on my PC, but still too blurry. I guess we wait til you get it in hand.
