Hello Coin Community!
I have a Rhode Island
State Quarter that appears to have a major die fill error. I understand that die fill errors are common and rarely worth much at all, but because of the severity of the error for this coin I was wondering if it might hold extra value?
Bellow is a description of the error.
The most notable error is on the Reveres. "RHODE ISLAND 1790" is almost completely missing. With only the "RH" in RHODE and the "90" in 1790 being discernible only under 5X magnification. Some other details on the reverse are affected but negligible. On the Obverse, "QUARTER DOLLAR" Is very faint but all of the letters are visible under magnification. As for "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "UNITED" is almost completely missing, with only "TED" faintly visible. "IN GOD WE TRUST," the "WE" is very faint and the "T" is missing from "TRUST," and "LIBERTY" is slightly affected but negligible.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! This is my first posting, so if there are any discrepancies or lack of information please let me know and I will try to correct them. thank you!
