In under 10 minutes, Mike explains these problem coins in detail and gives examples so collectors know what to look for before submitting problem coins to PCGS.

PCGS explains four additional problem coins in part two of the "No Grade" Grading 103 webcast series. PCGS Director of Education Mike Sherman reviews Planchet Flaws, Altered Surfaces, Scratches and Environmental Damages that can cause a coin not to be graded by PCGS. Note that these coins can still be holdered by PCGS as "Genuine."

Part 3 of Coin Grading 103 is dedicated solely to PCGS Problem Code 98: Damage. PCGS Director of Education Michael Sherman walks the viewer through nine reasons a coin will receive the 98 code designation. Among these problems are graffiti, planchet streaks, tooled surfaces, whizzing, machine damage, rim damage, surface damage, mount removal and holed or holed and plugged coins.

Part 4: PCGS will not put certain coins into holders. This video explains the four categories of No Grade coins that cannot be put into PCGS holders - Code 83 Peeling Lamination, Code 99 PVC Residue, Code 86 Authenticity Unverifiable, and Code 90 Counterfeit.
