Can anyone help in identifying this token/medal? I have not been able to find it listed anywhere. The soldier has a US belt buckle, reminiscent of the Civil War Union Soldier buckle. Many thanks!

What's the diameter?

Offhand, this looks to me to be a post-CW, GAR piece - Grand Army of the Republic. Souvenirs akin to this piece were sold at reunions, encampments and other military gatherings. The die work looks relatively early to me - 1870's? GAR gatherings were quite popular and held well into the twentieth century.

Diameter is approximately 24mm.

I've seen many similar pieces struck by Schwaab Stamp & Seal Co. Many tokens of this type were originally inserts to larger badges and suspensions used by the GAR and other organizations. I don't recall seeing this particular variety in such a suspension, however, there are a couple similar pieces.
