This bronze coin from India weighs 2.24 g and has a diameter of 20.6.
It's unusually thin, with a thickness of just 1.5 mm.
My best pictures of this are a scan of one side and photo of the other, given below.

I don't recognize the type or even the script (so I'm not sure I have it the legend the right way up), and have posted this in the world coins section because I can't tell if it's from before 1600 AD or after. Will appreciate any ideas on this one.

Does not seem Indian to me.

This must be some Islamic piece.

It seems to be a some sort of a dirhem or fals, it is upside-down by the way.

Yes, I agree it's Islamic. Very simple design.
Here are the photos turned 180 degrees.

Thank you for the assistance.

IDENTIFIED: After looking through a lot of photos on Zeno of Islamic coins of the right size and weight, found a match at https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=174436. This is a fals of Munajah, the Abbasid Governor of Tarsus in Cilicia, ca. 850-950 AD.
