And, as soon as you can dream up something else to "commemorate", then I'm sure that the RCM will cough out 3-4 versions of it in different metals/designs and charge a 250% mark-up.

Quote:
Get a Red Book.
The numbers are in there.

Didn't know that a Red Book contained Canadian Coins.

CalmBud
Volume I of Charltons non commemorative coins.
Volume II of Charltons for commemorative coins.
Change is inevitable except from a vending machine.

@JimmyD

Not wanting to sound too pedantic:
Volume 1 of Charltons is for Circulating coins, including commemorative circulating such as Lucky loonies and poppy quarters
Volume 2 of Charltons is for Collector coins which are essentially non-circulating and yes, all commemorative

I assumed what CalmBud was referring to when he said non-commemorative,
he meant business strikes or circulating coins, which is Volume I.

There are basically two types of coins, circulating (Volume I)
and non circulating (Volume II) with different terminology for each.
Change is inevitable except from a vending machine.

The http://coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php pages include mintage at the bottom of each denomination & year page for circulation coins.

For NCLT from the last 10 years or so you can search on https://www.mint.ca/store/template/home.jsp in the archived listings. Note this will give you the maximum authorized mintage which is usually higher than the actual mintage sold. You can dig the actual mintages out of the mint annual reports at the bottom of the https://www.mint.ca/store/mint/abou...orts-1400016 page if you like.
