Hey everyone, I am wondering if this is the 1888 8 over 7 Indian Head cent. I am having a hard time getting a nice picture of the date but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please show us the full date logo, including the lower bust and the coin's denticles below the date.

I don't believe it is the overdate, just looking for confirmation.

I agree with coinfrog.
Does not appear to be 8 over 7 but there
are other markers to confirm this but will
need a complete photo of the Obverse to check.

Yep, need a full view of the coin in sharp focus. Both sides.
Then we can check it out with Snow's guide.
Describe it as if there were no picture.

Hey Everyone, I really appreciate all of the quick responses. Unfortunately I am unable to capture a decent photo with my phone and the USB microscope only starts at 40X zoom, so its impossible to get it focused showing the whole coin. If anyone has any recommendations for a decent microscope to buy please let me know. I did however take the coin out of its protective case and I have attached a few more photos.

kyleg-
Is there any way you can take a picture of the full coin with a camera or phone?
Partial pictures don't usually help as there are other markers on the 1888 over 7 that will verify it's legitimacy.
In the meantime, you can check yourself. Look at the rim over the word UNITED.
It should have a small cud there. If not, then it is not an 8 over 7.

Doesn't look like it to me. I see a normal Indian Head cent.

Here is the diagnostic pic for the S-1 overdate. As you can see, the date logo on the OP's coin does not relate correctly to the bust point and denticles in the photo.

Ok, I purchased another 1888 Indian Head penny today, this one definitely caught my eye because it appears that the "1" in the date has been re-punched as well as a few other details I noticed. Any thoughts?
