I have this 1864-L Indian Head cent that I picked up last year. The "F" is missing in the legend and it has a die break on the rim. My question is: is this a common error and does it effect the value of the coin in any way?

The missing F could be the result of a grease-filled die. A critical value determinant on this coin, however, is the environmental damage, which will hold the value down considerably.

As coin frog said, the verdigris is the most concerning part of this coin, it may be worth getting conserved. The errors should have a negligible effect on value, if any.
