I will give out wrappers free to anyone who asks. Bringing it in rolled? No problem. Bringing it in loose to dump in the machine? Also no problem. Some branches make a big deal about only allowing customers to bring in x number of rolls or making them open the rolls and dump in the machine. I look at it more from a customer service standpoint, and will take it however you bring it, makes no difference to me. The only thing we require for either is that you have an account.

My Credit Union will give all the wrappers you need, just have to ask. Has never been a problem over the 20 plus years I have been with them. I think it just depends on the bank or credit union.

I was rerolling and returning to chase. The branch manager saw me coming in the door and met me halfway to the tellers and told me they will not take them from me anymore and to go somewhere else...so I tried my credit union next. They don't take rolled coins but they have one branch in my area with a coin counter machine they sent me to. I've been dumping at my credit union ever since.

Turns out after talking with them that one branch services all the other branches coin needs locally so they don't have to order coins. It's free to use and they will take whatever they can get so it's no problem at all. The one rule is no half dollars and no dollar coins which is OK with me since my get banks won't order half dollars or dollar coins for me either.

So I don't have to wrap anymore but I was always doing it before this situation occurred with chase. Pretty much all chase branches are fine, it's just the one close to my house that has always been rude and unhelpful and couldnt care if they work or don't on any given day.

I wasn't dumping a lot either maybe $100-$150 in coins a pop and spreading it out. Meh. It is what it is.

If chase didn't get me my boxes I'd probably close my accounts with them but the other branches have been really cool.
Just that one hates me, and probably every other customer that walks through the door.

My credit union has 5 branches near my work, 4 with free coin counters. My wife used to work at our regular bank and we are good friends with most everyone that works there. They just give me the big plastic bags that hold $1000 in halves. They will take rolls, but they have to count and dump out the rolls into the bags to send back to fed anyway. I go through $4k-$6k in halves per week. I alternate between all of them as much as I can. I usually bring the girls a box of chocolate or something if I bring in a lot of coins at once.
