Hello everyone hope you are all well. I'm from Northamptonshire in England, UK. I really know only what I could find out about certain US coins from the internet. And to be honest the information is quite contradictory. So I've been drawn to this forum hoping someone can help me. My aunt lived in New York from roughly 1952. I visited every 2 years from late sixties (I was toddler) and we would come home with these medals ( dollars and half dollars) to which I still have some. Would like to know if I should be putting away or letting grandchildren have fun as we did with them.

to the forrum. The majority of those listed are silver coins. I'll let the experts weigh in on the rarity. The dollar coins are 90% silver. The halves are 90% silver 1964 and earlier and 40% silver from 1965 to 1970. The condition of the coin makes all the difference in the answer to your question.

One key to uploading photos is keeping the size down below the limits so you need to crop the photos. I use Ifanview program. There are other programs and instructions on the forum to help but nothing happens if the photos are too large. Maybe less than 300 kb size is needed to upload.

Welcome. Hold on to them. If it's information you seek, you found the right place. On the left side bar are the links to "U.S. Coins & Currency". A brief description of each along with mintage figures. I would also suggest the Mega Red Book found online for around forty-usd, very valuable as it covers all U.S. coinage in great detail. Just don't confuse it with the standard Red Book.
