Hey there diggers!
Squishing my way through some more thawing fields recently to find another old site; not much to find but did manage to collect a couple of tokens.
It's tough to get any that are in good shape and these are typical of what happens to copper coins in our soil. Keep in mind that these areas have been in agricultural use for the past two centuries with the addition of chemical and natural fertilizer on top of it all. The results speak for themselves, toasty tokens from the east coast.
A pair of PEI tokens a Breton 918 and 995...both have seen better days. Hopefully my next outing will be a better day too lol

Nice finds and you left out the part about acid rains. There were plenty of dead lakes in the Adirondacks when I was a kid.

thanks cmj and dave
it's been a while since I've heard a reference to acid rain, without doubt it has had an irreparable effect in our lives and some things that go unseen only to be now experienced
