Poll Question
I don't want people to guess that I'm too much of a "Noob" when I'm posting. Is it ExtraFine or eXtraFine .... EF or XF? Which do you use or do you use both?

I use both depending on my mood and what I've been reading lately .... if I've been reading EF a lot, I'll probably use that more often. But, If I just read XF, I'll probably use that.

To me it's the same as BC/AD vs BCE/CE, in that they mean the exact same thing so I don't have a preference really. If I had to choose, well, EF maybe, but I've also used XF before.

Or the Cent versus Penny debate.

You need to be aware of the options.

EF is a mainly UK grade.
XF is a US grade equivalent to UK NVF to VF
That's how I see it.

I use XF but either one is acceptable. Xf is going to be the predominate one though since that's what PCGS and NGC use, always looks a little funny seeing the ANACS or ICG EF

Interchangable. I use XF because verbally EF and VF sound similar enough that I say "It's VF" they could hear it as EF or vise-versa. XF and VF are far enough apart sound wise that it isn't an issue. Also IMO XF sounds cooler.

As for the meaning , both EF and XF are the same . When I first started collecting I always used XF ,it was like easier to write than EF . now I use what most Numismatic biggies use : EF .

Does the word "extra" start with an e or an x?

I primarily use XF. That's just because that's what I first saw when I started seriously collecting. But I've seen both and used both.
