Not sure what this is. Was looking for mint mark and found what appears to be a #1 struck where mint mark should be....

08 and 09 S is the only IHC that have a MM.

Sorry , only Mint Marks on 1908 and 1909 IHC's . Your coin is pretty beat up . It would be a cull in my book .

the coin has lots of accidental(?) damage and the "1" looks like intentional damage. If this were my coin, I'd add it to my "Pocket Pieces." It's fun to pull out a 117 year old Indian Head cent when you have to flip a coin.
