I would like to ask everyone, A few questions.
OK here they are.

1. Do you walk into a coin store and ask them to re-grade there coins if they seem wrong to you?

2.Do you tell them they are way over priced?

3.Do you ask a lot of questions about a coin that you don't even have a interest in? Or plan on buying?

I say be respectful to our forum family friends. There are plenty of coins and mistakes on e-bay to pick on and e-mail to all day long. Lets keep our forum friendly. If I don't like a price I don't buy it. If I thank its a different grade I don't have to buy it. And if your not even interested in buying his or her coin why are you posting on his or her thread. If you are trying to be helpful the least you could do if the grading is a little off is Send them a nice PM so they can change it if they want to. Who knows what the actual grade is. They are the ones holding it. We are looking at a picture or sometimes through a 2x2. I had lots of nice deals on here and lots of nice customers too. I would like to keep it this way. Thanks for listening Coindexter

I have better things to do, but I can see where some sellers could benefit from pricing and grading tips. The forum is for learning, too.

I B/S/T on this forum on a regular basis. I welcome any comments from forum members if they think my offerings are over graded or over priced. Most just send me a PM explaining my error. I don't take their comments in a bad light. I may or may not agree with them but they are always useful. In answer to your question 1 yes all the time with certain dealers. My collecting habits are from an extremely narrow range of coins and I have several dealers in my area who know very little about them so I try to educate them some agree with my comments some don't. Question 2 kind of falls under the same reasoning. Question 3 I agree this makes no sense. This forum covers the globe and even in the USA regional variations in pricing exist due to supply and demand. so if something seems way to expensive for you is probably because there is more supply in your area. Count yourself lucky and move on. If something seems cheap then feel free to complain the price is to low.

I think any comments on pricing and grading should be done in private. If the original poster agrees, then they can change it.

None of us here are perfect and if the original poster can be wrong, the one commenting on the price or grade could just as easily be wrong. Then there is a permanent doubt posted in the thread and I don't think that's fair to the person trying to sell. If the OP gets enough emails that the price is too high then they have to make a decision.

Thank you, Bobby. Yes we all could use some help from know and then. But let that stay in the grading area or if they ask for assistance. We don't want to have people discouraged to sell here if the first 2-3 posts on his or her thread are negative and or is asking questions about something he or she is not at all interested in buying. I think we should also complement more on new members finds and purchases. Do you remember your first coin? It might not be worth a ton of money or it might not be a 1969DDO but it was there trigger that got them collecting. And that my forum friends is priceless. Coindexter (Shane)

Albeit, I'm still relatively new here, BUT

If something is being sold here which they've assigned a grade to which is obviously WAY off base (say a VF that's trying to be passed off as an AU) then I have no problem with anyone bringing attention to that in the sale thread. If it's just questionable (AG being passed off as G) then not so much... maybe a PM to the seller if anything.

In fact one of the things I LIKE about the sale threads here is that it DOES happen, both to the benefit and detriment of the seller. Whereas on ebay there's no ability to view raised questions. If the coin IS what the seller says it is then they should be able to easily post WHY the coin is what it says it is. A well written out reply can actually lend MORE credence to a sellers listing.

In fact I've quit selling coins on ebay because of the BST forum here. I will only sell on CCF even though I know I would very probably realize a higher sale price ebay (take for instance my 09S Lincoln that's currently for sale... I know I could ebay that one for more than it's going to sell for here). It might sound stupid, but I feel better about passing on my extras and whatnots to CCF members because I KNOW that they're collectors trying to learn or trying to teach.

To me CCF is first and foremost a place to learn. I've done a ton of it here in regards to Lincolns with the explanation of Coppercoins and BadThad. I welcome their comments in ANY thread on Lincolns be it a BST thread or somewhere else. To me the BST threads are sale threads BUT primarily they're still a place to learn, be it the seller or someone else.

Maybe I'm way off base here...
