My mom and I were going through bank rolls of Lincoln cents and she came across this very interesting specimen, a Lincoln cent reverse upon an Lincoln cent obverse. After a while studying the cent I was able to make out that it is of 1990-D mintage. I know that this is most likely damage, but what kind of situation would cause such damage to happen?

Damage. It's either a vice job or glue. Give it an acetone soak and see if it disappears.

Looks like glue and the impression of a different coin in it.

I think it's from a vice pressing two coins together.
