In your opinion, what brand(s) of metal detectors are the all around best for precious metals? I'm Thinking about buying one this year as I have wanted one for quite some time. Any suggestions ......

I use a bounty hunter quick draw pro. Versatile entry level detector that works well in a variety of environments and targets. Coolest thing I found with it was a broadsword handle and crossguard. Now I just have to find the rest the next time I go to that site.

That all depends on your budget . Garrett and whites make some really good ones and different models for different types of detecting . One thing I want to suggest is pick up a pin pointer when you get your detector ( small hand held detector about the size of a small flash light ). This will make it easier to locate your find after you dig the spot your main machine found .

I am using XP Deus. Good metal detector increases your chances to find objects (depth, size, soil, object positioning).

The only recommendation I can give you is to get a decent detector. Once you get married with metal detecting, it is forever.

Garrett are simple and good one (AT pro). Will serve you really long.

hmmm also thinking about doing some metal detecting down-under (in australia), but would like entry level as I just want to try it out something that okayish doesn't need to be the cheapest but has a somewhat good reliability, or something that good second-hand as I'm guess that it would be slightly cheaper than you? A rough price would be nice.

i see one suggestion of the Bounty Hunter PL PROQD Multi-Purpose Detector right?
Sorry to hijack post but I think quite a similar question and so I thought might as well. Will look at some other posts, and keywords that I should check?
