Is it common to change the finer detail of a coin from just one year to the next? Look at the jewel in red oval,each one is different.

Could it be a weak strike?
We can observe other sections with smooth surface (hair) or little relief on many jewels.

It looks like a much weaker strike to me. Appears to be less definition throughout the entire crown too. Still a neat observation, you've got a cool scope for sure!

Can you add pictures of the reverse too?
Usually, a weak strike also shows some evidences on both sides.

In the nickel dollar series... yes, it is common. Little things were changed all the time, for example look at where the waterlines meet the denticles in 1968 and 1969 dollars.
