Also, don't feel bad for not originally keeping it in a 2x2, even veteran collectors make mistakes such as handling older coins without gloves

Congratulations on a nice find and welcome.

Ebay had a "raw" one like yours that sold for $69.95 in May of this year.

Definitely no hard feelings on my end of things - my parents had this for years and years since they had a safe, and I got it back a few years back. I figured it was worth SOMEthing (glad to have a robust internet now so I can see others with similar things!) but never really thought much about it.

I'll report back any info from the coin shop (Rocky Mountain Coin is the closest, of anyone's dealt with them in Denver ) that seems interesting.
