Perth Mint - This year's release features a design harking back to Christmas in the bush at a time when settlers used colourful native flora to decorate their homes and verandas.

The coin's reverse coin portrays a delightful garland of iconic flowers including golden coloured wattle, red Waratah and Bottlebrush. Within the arrangement are two Yellow Robins, inquisitive and self-assured birds well-known for their piping pre-dawn calls. Also included in the design is the inscription MERRY CHRISTMAS and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.

Legal tender it is, and also visually attractive.
My feeling is that is leans much more to the side of exonumia, rather than pure numismatics.
It will find collectors of both exonumia and numismatic fans anyway.

Lots of blue wrens also to be seen in the Western Australian wheat belt hinterland. World's oldest living fossils to be found in W.A.

Perth Mint is a wonderful place to visit in Hay Street, Perth City. I have been there on two visits form Sydney. I handled 400 ounce bar of gold. Has live gold pouring demonstrations.
A bit hard to get to, for non Australians, being the most isolated major city in the World.
