Meiji silver Pattern Trade dollar Year 7 (1874), Dragon without beaded circle, with legend and value around/Value in wreath, chrysanthemum above, KM-Pn25, J&V R1, Proof 62 NGC. Lead-gray patina over mirrored fields with light marks and one, or two, tiny rim bumps. One of two Meiji 7 Pattern Trade dollar types, this issue, while very rare appears every few years. Even so, only a few pieces survive, and this is the first we have offered. Mr. Jacobs purchased this piece from the noted New York world coin dealer and auctioneer, Hans M.F, Schulman, in either 1953, or 1954.
