Hello,
few days ago I get this coin. Much trouble to identify.. But, I am almost sure that it is Denarius Augustus. Maybe rare bc head is facing left. Problem is that its weight is only 2,7 grams, while in some catalogs, weight is no less than 3,3 grams. OK, coin is damaged, but one gram..? Pictures are.. so, so...
Any help from experts?
Thanks

Well it seems to be some kind of a plate on there and the letters do look soft. So could be an ancient fouree.

Indeed, looks like a fouree. And that could account for the low weight.

Yes, you are right. I was fooled by magnet, wasn't any reaction. Also, my focus was on identifying, not on details. Trough cracks is possible to se green patina...
Thank you for help

I agree a fouree, however can't tell if it's from the time period of a later copy.
