Hi
I purchased this from an estate sale and the other coins were definitely genuine. I'm concerned about this one because I haven't seen a shield like this. Has anyone seen a reverse with this shield type?

Are you happy with what you paid for it?

Now that the question has been asked:
The provenance of this coin needs to be investigated much further.
Need photos of the edge.
What is the weight?
Needs a search against all data bases of fake coins of the same type.

After that,
XRF test looking for the mixture of trace elements, not silver.

On these pictures alone, (which is not enough), style looks OK. So far, I don't have doubts, but due diligence is an absolute must if a purchase is being considered.

Without further investigation, if I was looking to buy it, I cannot rule out the possibility that it may be a modern die struck fake in good silver. As it is, if it came up on eBay, it would have to be by a known expert or dealer with a long established reputation before I would consider it, despite looking as good as it does.

Without the above investigations, I would have bought this coin on speculation, but with attached risk, the price would have to be right.

Just looked at about two dozen Lysimachos tetradrachms on Google Images and Vcoins.
Your question raising doubts about the shield style is still valid. Didn't see a similar shield.

Agreed, for large purchases or uncertain coins, I follow that advice. I may take a chance on lower priced coins from random sellers.

Check Gitbud & Naumann Münzhandlung München GmbH, Pecunem Auction 20 Lot 71, 2014. I hope this helps to give you at least some kind of assurance.
Congratulations on your beautiful coin,
Best

In this case provenance have proven to mean everything. It comes with the auctioneer's guarantee of authenticity.
