it's always best to post both sides of the coin for the best answer, in this situation I'm thinking it's damage, possibly from some sort of tool.

Need a clear photo of obverse and reverse. Can't tell exactly what the mark is, the photo is too blurry.

It looks like someone turns another coin on edge and struck your coin with the coin on edge

Need better photos, including reverse and close-up and in focus please.Also,please properly crop photos before posting. As of now looks like PMD.

Can't really say from that photo what caused it but I can
say that by looking at the rim it is some sort of PMD

It looks like the rim of another half dollar was pressed and rolled across this coin. It does seem to match the reed pattern.
But much better pictures are needed to be sure.
