I'm not yet convinced that it is Pamela up to her old tricks. The 2x2s seem to be more honest with their grades, there seems to be differing handwriting on the 2x2s, and there is some whiteouting on some of the 2x2s indicating something wasn't right. I'm considering the possibility that someone locally bought some of her junk and is now trying to dump it, but this is only an alternative scenario. If it really is Pamela, then someone has forced her to clean up her act a little. This bears watching. If it really is Pamela, we may have to wait for some feedback to come in before taking any action. She (or the store owner) may have pulled the 1793 cent auction because it was too obviously a counterfeit. Except for the 1793 cent, the rest of the coins may or may not be authentic, but most of them are beyond my expertise. If some of them are, in fact, counterfeit, the dropoff store owner may find himself in hot water with ebay. |

Apparently, they are taking their stuff to the Snappy Auctions Savannah location to sell it. It is definitely their coins. I recognize the notes on the holders and the 1793 Cent that ran for one day and Snappy pulled it. I sent an email to Snappy Auctions and explained who they are selling for and provided the two ID's that were NARU'd. I also explained how they have a reputation for selling counterfeit and replica coins and that Snappy Auctions is now being discussed on a couple of coin forum boards. I then told them it would be a shame to lose potential customers over this and wished them luck and success. Guess we'll see what happens.  |

Good. Very good, Susan. I had thought about contacting the sidewalk auction house, but hadn't followed through. Besides, you have more clout anyway. In any instance, please keep us posted if you hear back from Snappy. I'm on a time crunch for the next few days, but will be happy to jump in with emails to Snappy and/or ebay when I get unbusy although I'll frequently monitor the forum for a few minutes when I can. |

I got a reply from Snappy Auctions. They were not aware of the problems with these coins. They have since pulled 50 of the 92 auctions (basically anything that was questionable).

ND,
I got the letters sent off to the newspapers and email's to my congressman. I will let you know what kind of reply I get.

That's incredible! Way to go, Susan! I'm gonna guess that's the last we'll hear from Pamela at Snappy Auctions; after these auctions run their course, either Snappy or Pamela won't want to touch the other again... we can hope. But, where will she go from here? Dare we to hope that she sees the error of her ways and goes straight? Will Jim abandon Pamela for another woman? Or will Pam seek redemption in the bottle? The only option Bobby and I can come up with is that she would have to sell from a website. In which case, she wouldn't have a prayer because she'd have no exposure. I would think this should kill the rest of her options. (Hopefully)
