Picked this up for $18, I'm hoping it'll get a P-01 if I were to send it in for grading. I see multiple examples very close to mine that have graded P-01 such as this one: https://www.PCGS.com/auctionprices/...187192137268 however I'm aware that PCGS does things differently for each coin. Any thoughts?

To me it looks like normal wear. I'm very inexperienced with Morgan's though, I am most likely wrong.

I don't really see evidence of cleaning, just the kinds of marks you'd see on a pocket piece. Can you show us a large close-up of the MM area?

I've never looked at PO-01 Morgans before, but the coin in the link has much smoother surfaces. I'm afraid this one has been accelerated in the wear process with a wire brush or something like that. Does anyone know the PO-01 grading requirements? If this is intentional wear will it get a 'Details' grade? EDIT: Looking at the Photograde images, the surfaces are all smoothed by wear.

Obverse FR-2, reverse PO-1. Guess it's a 1.5.

Quote: I don't really see evidence of cleaning There are horizontal lines all over the place that must indicate heavy scrubbing with a wire brush or some similar implement, possibly to remove dirt.

This coin could be covered in hairlines in every direction from wear. The scratches that are illuminated are perpendicular to the light source.

Thanks for all the responses, I appreciate it! Maybe a little time in the pocket will bring it to a P-01. @Coinfrog here's the picture you requested:

I agree with jacrispies, this one does not look cleaned, just surface marks on a slick surface accentuated by photo lighting.

I also vote for stick it in your pocket.
They wear pretty quick, you will see.
