For the past few weeks, I've been posting brief accounts of classic-era US commemorative coins that have two (or more!) dates within their design over in the "Post Your..." forum area. Dual dating is a fairly common design approach for commemorative coins and medals and is found throughout the US commemorative classic and modern coin series. I like dual dates on commemorative coins - I find they tell an important part of the story being recalled by the piece.
