All done camping trying to get back to normal now.

I get into the Gallery ok and get to the photo I want, be when I try to post on CCF (how far back can we go) all I get is a small square box, it did work before Because thats how I posted all my pics.

How can I fix this?

The CCF Gallery is not a "secure site" in that is still uses HTTP and not HTTPS. Browsers are shunning HTTP...

For those who are using Chrome or Chromium based browsers (Edge, Opera, etc) and cannot see CCF Gallery images, please try this:

  • Click on the padlock in the address bar.

  • Click on site settings.

  • Under Permissions, scroll down to 'Insecure content' and set to Allow.

  • Reload the page and images should load.

This will only affect CCF. Mixed content will remain blocked on all other sites until you allow it.

For those who are using Firefox:

  • Click on the padlock in the address bar.

  • Click the down arrow where it says 'HTTPS-Only Mode' and select 'Off Temporarily'

  • Page will reload automatically

The gallery won't be around forever, I don't recommend uploading there any more. I'm not paying GoDaddy $100 for an SSL when just about every other host you can do it for free with Let's Encrypt. GoDaddy explicitly blocks you from using Let's Encrypt.

I looked at the post in HFBCWG7. It is the filenames you used. You have to many successive underscores (_) in them.

Rename the files to not use special characters or spaces, which get converted to _. Too many _ in a row will break the embed.

Click on "Edit file information" under the image to rename the file.

Try to stick to 0-9 and A-Z for filenames. No spaces. Use one _ if you want a space.

I tried several names and nothing worked.

The 1996 proof silver quarter that I posted has all kinds of _ _ in it and it worked.

I just looked and the one you posted has a bunch as well.

This what I get if I just copy the link under the picture.
Just a box. The file in my computer does not have the underscores, but the gallery adds them.

This is the same thing, with the underscores deleted.

I tend to click on my image and save it to my computer, after deleting the underscores and then I upload it to the forum.
Then it works fine.

I was going to ask you what your pics are doing but you beat me to it. The thing I can't figure out is the pic above with the dime is straight from the Gallery. But yes it looks like we will have to get all the pics back on our home computers.

I do have all my pics on my home computer as well, so most of the time I just upload from there.
Would be a shame if the gallery closes, as I have spent 16 years uploading pics there. Bobby was
even kind enough to give me extra space, which has run out now. I respect his decision though
if it does happen.

I totally agree with what you are saying what happens , happens.

Yes I can not figure out why the double pics work and the singles don't.

Has the gallery been closed?
I've not been able to access it for over 12 hours.
