Back during the Olympics, the Canadian mint offered these coins for sale. One subscribed to the series and a coin with a different sport depicted on the reverse was sent periodically. The mint also provided a nifty green fuzzy storage box and authentification certificates for the set and for each coin.

I don't seem to be able to post in Canadian Commemoratives, so I'm trynig here

Nice coins, I like these far more than the '76 Montreal Olympic sets.

Nice set! Congrats! Thanks for posting!

Do you collect Olympic-themed coins in general or were you just interested in this particular set?

I had seen an earlier Olympic coin set, and got jealous. When I got the opportunity to subscribe, I bought these. I do not have nor look for, any other Olympic sets.

I came across the Montreal set back a few years ago at a flea market.

Some of the Calgary Olympic coins are missing edge letterings

Fair enough - you've definitely got an attractive set as your collection's only Olympics-related piece.

I've always liked the curling and bobsled coins from the set. They're not common subjects for coins and they are each nicely-executed (IMO) in this set!

Commems Thank you or the compliment. I'm pretty much a U.S. coin collector. I've spent a lot of time and money on ebay.
