Jefferson Reverse: Radial Flow Lines?

I snapped this quickly while taking pictures of a different nickel. Just wanted to ask a question about the metal. If there is interest, I can go back through the little pile and document the coin properly.

For my own education, are these radial flow lines? As I understand it, the die deteriorates and suffers cold metal flow. It looks really odd, like rays radiating from the center of the coin.

Is that an error that people collect? It does look kinda cool.
