I'm thinking this might be a DDO. It appears to have the widening on the words IN GOD WE TRUST, particularly strong on the "O" in God and the lower of the "U" and "R" in Trust.

If this is a legitimate DDO which would you consider it. I've seen FS 101, DDO Die 1, and DDO Die 3. I'm not sure what any of those actually mean. Any guidance and or enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

Is the color true?
Is it a Denver or Philly?
FS101 is a proof coin and yours looks like a business strike.

Since the full coin pic looks gold and the close up does not, I am thinking the gold color is a lighting issue not a plated coin.

This coin was actually part of a set Containing both Philadelphia and Denver Mints. This coin in particular is a Philly mint coin.

as far as I know the color is true because the coins are in a protected Package. Will include photographs of package and Reverse of coin. Will use my microscope to provide better photographs of the obverse as well.

For me seem to be the FS-101 Phil strike. In order to be sure pics without glare of the packaging will be nice. A trick which apply to slabs it is a little sawing machine oil on the plastic.

For me sound really promising to qualify. I will need to see also Liberty.

After taking another look, it's a DDO. The lettering is thicker than normal.

@ Cu Yes I know it is an D, but what I saw it is as the Phil FS-101strike.

Reason? No Idea, maybe an Phil Die was ship in D? and for the period nothing impossible.

Cu, we already know that not all the DD are single Die. What I know are 1,2 or 3. So if was three and Phil use 2 and one ship in D, mean that the D strike Observe in this case must have same Observe markers. Me I never look for other side markers because is nonsense. Cause it is because any time during the strike you can change the other Die. (Ex: I strike with one hammer 100 coins but after those 100 I change the Anvil, thing happened in the minting process, so no more same markers for the same Hammer).

IMHO, this coin must be see in hand with at list one example of the Phil FS-101 and analyze the Observe deign for same small variations. Other thing it is the MM. Must be analyze to see for which strikes period it is. The MM was punch by hand by an ex goldsmith, and will have the same characteristic of his punch on the coins.

This was one of my discussions with Wex many years ago, and him states that it is logic, but the peoples like to look for those markers.
