I'd probably find an interesting thing in the shop, if there is one, most likely in silver. I have no clue what they sell, but it would have to be a non-circulating coin. The only "in person only" coin I can think of is the mint-your-own coin - which is somewhere out on the floor, not in the gift shop. As Sap stated, anything that could be purchased at the Mint Coin Shop is most likely available through their eShop or one of their accredited coin distributors ... only advantage I guess is that you save on postage.
