Its diameter is roughly half that of a dime. You can find this token in a Heritage Auctions sale: https://coins.ha.com/itm/western-so...0475-53001.s 1872 George Washington, 1/4 California Gold, Octagonal, MS64 NGC. Baker-504, GW-819 Variety. Gold, 9 mm. The obverse die also struck HK-504B. Similar to GW-819, but this variety has a period after the date and shows 'GOLD' after 'CALIFORNIA' instead of below the fraction.
