I bought these Banovac denars from Croatia via ebay. Seeking opinions, are they genuine?
They look much better than these fake Banovac denars that I ended up with, from Serbia, and discussed in a different post on this forum: http://goccf.com/t/465471#4050497
I can't comment on the authenticity, but the similarities in the missing portions of the coins suggests that maybe at some point they were clipped to remove some silver.

The irregular breaks mean the coins broke, likely due to crystallization. The clipping of coins was much more discreet, consisting of merely shaving bits from the edges; which is why reeded edges developed.
These look good to me. I'll admit I don't have one in my collection, but if you compare the lettering, devices, etc. with others being sold by reputable auction houses, you will reach the same conclusion. Presumably you got a good deal because of the missing bits. That third one is really lovely despite the damage. I've got a few early Low Countries coins with similar shapes removed from their edges.
