Looks silver and well worn. Is is very odd. The shield reverse and veiled Victoria were hardly contemporary. Sovereigns changed to the st. George reverse before that.
The leaves on the obverse put me in mind of some ottoman coins but they also show up on mid and late nineteenth century british medals. The flowers on the reverse are an older style of art.
1893 would be late for these themes on a medal. Can be some sort or revival thing but it is an odd one.
I doubt it is british in origin.
