Unidentified Unofficial Farthing Or Medal?

It's presumably British with Queen Victoria on the obverse. and the royal arms on the reverse. 22mm, not magnetic. I don't think it's silver. Sap Moderator Australia 16806 Posts	Posted 09/11/2025 8:28 pm I suspect it's a "jewellery imitation" of a sovereign, intended for inclusion in costume jewellery. Meant to "look like a sovereign at first glance" but not good enough to stand up to close scrutiny (or close enough for the maker to be accused of counterfeiting). The 1890s is the earliest likely date as the "veiled head" portrait of Victoria on which this is modelled was introduced in 1893. jecz79 Pillar of the Community Portugal 655 Posts	Posted 09/15/2025 6:30 pm Looks silver and well worn. Is is very odd. The shield reverse and veiled Victoria were hardly contemporary. Sovereigns changed to the st. George reverse before that. The leaves on the obverse put me in mind of some ottoman coins but they also show up on mid and late nineteenth century british medals. The flowers on the reverse are an older style of art. 1893 would be late for these themes on a medal. Can be some sort or revival thing but it is an odd one. I doubt it is british in origin.
