Coins should be handled minimally—by the edges with clean hands or nitrile/latex gloves—and kept away from contaminants like food, moisture, smoke, and pets. For storage, use coin-safe flips and holders (avoiding reuse and non-archival materials) and choose a secure location such as a safe or cabinet. Maintaining a stable environment, especially controlling humidity between 50-65%, is essential to prevent damage over time.
