Just returned from the weekly visit to the Thursday Flea Market. Bit disappointing this week, Two Byzantine, That have been put away and this little square item that I can't think where to begin to look for it. Apologies if the pictures are the wrong way round. I might clean it up a little and see if I can get a bit more detail to show.
Any help, as always, much appreciated.
Thank you,
Met.

15mm and 6.40grams.

Looks Islamic.
Any guess on composition? I think there were both silver and copper types struck with this shape.

As a very general rule of thumb, "square coins" almost always equals "India".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
