I was out looking for a dansco 7070 Today (08-22-2009) I was happy to find one. It was used...still being used actually. I got about a dozen coins with it for 30.00 I started a thread asking about how much this would cost me. I'll see what I can do to keep this thread updated on how much it really will cost me.
Total to date...approximately 250.00 with one "upgrades" so far

Ooo, I really like the toned Washington and Franklin got pics of the other sides? BTW, if the reverse of the 2 center is as nice as the obverse, that one alone is worth more than you paid for the whole lot. I would say you got a good deal

I will get better pictures (single shots) when I get back up to my office/studio. That was one of the coins I check in the magazine. it had a designation of large and small motto's...either way, you are correct. The guy was selling me the book for 15.00, and everything else at face +5.00 each for the silver. He would have sold me the book for 15.00 if he could have kept the silver. Half of everything else are proofs (I believe)

Yes, I was thinking That I have an older book, or I am missing pages. I have been looking at some of the other books that the other members have. The guy I bought it from, was in fact, a dealer. I am sure he should have known exactly what was in the book. I asked him if He had a dansco 7070, and He gave me a weird look. (He did have a shelf full of brand new dansco albums) After establishing it was a type book, He pulled one out from somewhere in his shop. (He didn't know the catalog numbers of the Dansco's) He seemed more concerned about face and melt value over the fact that the .02 piece was worth more than the book itself, let alone the fact of having several proofs in the mix, and the condition of the pennies. I almost forgot...Woo Hoo...That's my first time getting dancing fruit on this forum

Welcome to the addiction my friend! By the way, your photographs are excellent! That Buffalo nickel looks like a possible mint state coin, can you photograph both sides for us so we can drool?

I will be photographing all the coins individually. For the show off factor :) Documentation reasons, and to get a better look at the condition. I'll keep the running progress of the set. I have a few pieces that I added from what I have acquired since I started (just over a month ago)

Very nice! My 7070 is about 15 years old now and still has the old Bicentennial/SBA modern page. Upgrading it is still on my to-do list. Here is where I plan to get it: Updated US Modern Page 7070
