Hello

I have a question that I would like to open up for opinions,

So far I have purchased 4 2005 proof sets, each one has a coin that has a problem, either a nick or a scratch or black spots, suppose the value of these sets rises like it did in 2004 ,,Here is the question, would the set hold the same value if I were to open these sets and put together 2 very nice sets say in capitol proof set holders ?or would they be devalued because they are not in the original mint plastic ?

For what it's worth, we have always been able to get more money for a set that is in its original packaging. I don't know why this is. The only exception is sets that are graded.

Why not crack the original holder and replace the coins? This way you have the original packaging with good coins.
